Pharmaceutical Love

Click this link, then read my blog.

Okay, so let me get this straight. Scientists are trying to say that love is primarily a chemical reaction? While I agree that chemistry most certainly contributes to it, I find it sickening that they are almost trying to negate love as a whole. They do agree that there are other factors that contribute to love, it's their intent that has me on edge.

"Instead, it will be possible for scientists to develop aphrodisiacs - chemicals that would make people fall in love with the first person they see.

And for those who have fallen in love with someone they shouldn't have fallen in love with, an antidote to unrequited love.

There is even the prospect of a genetic "love test" to assess whether two potential love birds are predisposed to a happy married life".

Why scientists are constantly looking to play the role of God is beyond me. I do not want to fall in love with the first person I see, I'm sorry. Nor do I want that much control over my love destiny. And although a reverse pharmaceutical hex may sound appealing to many of the recently broken-hearted, it's disturbing. Why even form this genetic love test if you can just pick who you want? Wouldn't the results be invalid due to your impulsive decision to fall in love with the first person you see? But don't worry, the antidote can virtually undo your mistake, and allow for the next person you see to be eligible for hire.

What is our future coming to? Goodbye poetic serenade, hello love lemonade.
